Vaccine Coverage: Resurgence of Measles Outbreak in Ghana

Measles is a highly contagious viral disease that can lead to severe complications and even death, especially in young children. Children who are not vaccinated against measles at higher risk of contracting the disease. In first 5 weeks 2023, total 209 suspected cases were reported 11 districts they all later confirmed be positive by laboratory investigations. The low vaccination coverage rates have contributed recent outbreak Ghana, which has had devastating consequences on children's health. been linked several factors, including immunization coverage, poor healthcare infrastructure, inadequate surveillance systems. Improving strengthening monitoring systems critical steps controlling preventing spread measles.
